The Warwick Fire Department has responded to 393 calls for service to date as of Monday, October 16.

The department recently completed drills for calls for service at fire scenes, vehicle apparatus checks, fleet maintenance, and weekly work details at all Warwick fire stations. This past week the WFD Fire Prevention Team completed Fire Prevention Week Details at area schools, and also welcomed students to visit Warwick Station #1.

The Warwick Fire Department Membership Committee is currently accepting applications to join the WFD. In its announcement, the department said, “Our Warwick community is comprised of all backgrounds and you are all needed to continue to help give back and serve.”

Those interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, or a member of the fire police must be 16 years of age or older and want to give back by protecting the community. Call 845-986-3473, reach out via social media (Facebook, Instagram), or email the department at wfdmembership@yahoo.com for information on how to volunteer. Prospective volunteers can also stop by any Warwick firehouse any evening to speak with a fire officer or firefighter.
