Warwick. The Hope Chest presents $5,000 to Warwick Area Farmworker Organization
The Warwick Hope Chest recently presented a $5,000 donation to Dulce Esperanza, The Warwick Area Farmworker Organization’s summer camp for children.
The check was presented to Kathy Brieger, executive director of the WAFO, by Laura Shanahan, director of the Warwick Hope Chest.
“The presentation of this donation is in keeping with our mission to feed, clothe, and welcome members of our community” said Mimi Fader, president of Shared Ministries of Hope, which is the governing board of the Warwick Hope Chest.
The Warwick Hope Chest, originally an outreach ministry of Pine Island’s Vision Community Church, whose proceeds support The Clothing Closet, their free clothing bank, has distributed more than $300,000 worth of free clothing to local families over the past 10 years.
The Warwick Hope Chest and Clothing Closet is located at 90 North Main St., in the Village of Florida (next to Zircar Ceramics). They are open Tuesdays from 2 to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Warwick Hope Chest proceeds also go to support Warwick’s free clothing bank.
