Warwick. Rotarians install four new members; seek volunteers to scrape and paint UAME Church
The Warwick Valley Rotary Club inducted four members into its community service organization during April.
Membership chair Laurene Iammattero and President Laura Barca jointly conducted the installation service for Paul Ruszkiewicz, farmer and Orange County legislator; Tammy Scotto, Warwick realtor; Samantha Ferrari, customer relationships with Seely and Durland Insurance; and Chris Kane, retired New York firefighter and Warwick Ambulance Corps volunteer.
Warwick Rotarians are part of a 70-plus community service organization which helps about three dozen non-profit groups annually with financial and labor assistance and provides four $2,000 college scholarships to Warwick seniors.
Under the leadership of John McGloin, Warwick Rotarians are working with the Warwick Historical Society to scrape and paint the UAME Church on Forester Avenue. A pre-painting workday is planned for Saturday, May 6, and painting on May 20.
Community members are invited to participate in both events.
McGloin said if there are more volunteers than needed on this project, they will be asked to paint the fence around the Old School Baptist Church across Main Street from Village Hall.
