Food scrap collection at the Warwick Valley Farmers Market takes off on May 4 for another season.
Sustainable Warwick’s Compost Committee is seeking volunteers for Sundays in May and June. There are two people per shift and newer volunteers will be matched with experienced volunteers.
There are two shifts per day: an opening shift, 8:45 to 11:30 a.m., and a closing shift, 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m. The tent, table, chairs and other materials are provided and set up.
Volunteers are simply asked to show up, engage with the community members who bring their food scraps from home and chop off carrot and beet tops for market shoppers.
Find the volunteer form here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe9LXoSPTsJxWZnvHsCU9t4IaWrpHAr4-URF-0KcbSBAB4S9A/viewform. Potential volunteers can see open slots in the schedule and provide their availability. Sustainable Warwick will contact volunteers to confirm their dates in the schedule.
