Matthew Dylan McGuire of Rock Tavern passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 40. He was born on May 23, 1984, in Warwick.
Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and loving wife Stacey Brien; beloved daughter Margot Dylan McGuire; sisters Cassandre and Victoria; mother-in-law Nancy; father-in-law Mark; sisters-in-law Jenni, Misha and Meggie; brothers-in-law Ryan and Mikey; and nieces and nephew Khalayla, Gemma and Brien.
He was the son of Brian McGuire and Nancy Lewis; and stepson-in-law of Robb Daly.
Matty was a sensitive, deep soul, with the most beautiful mind. He was a man of many talents: carpentry, drawing, poetry, master rock stacker, piano player, juggler and so much more. Being in the woods on a rainy day soaking in nature was when he was the happiest.
Consider these thoughts on impermanence by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk:
“The day is ending and our life is one day shorter. Let us look carefully at what we have done. Let us practice diligently, putting our whole heart into the path of meditation. Let us live deeply each moment and in freedom, so the time doesn’t slip away meaninglessly.”
Matty was a dedicated and hard worker for many companies over the years: Randone’s Pizzeria, New York Renaissance Faire, Ryan Construction, Sobara Construction, Walsh Group and Ferreira Construction Co.
