Kenneth Goebel Jr. of Greenwood Lake passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 87.
The son of Kenneth (Charlie) and Mae Zampino Goebel, Kenneth was born June 2, 1932, in The Bronx.
Kenneth followed his father into the elevator field, starting as an elevator mechanic and then becoming foreman.
In the early 70’s he moved his family out of the Bronx, buying his first home in Greenwood Lake. He commuted daily for many years to Central International Elevator Co. in New York City until he retired.
He loved everything electronic and had all kinds of gadgets. He was extremely intelligent and knew everything about anything you needed to know. If you had a problem or didn’t know how something worked or needed something fixed or just didn’t understand something, Kenneth always knew how to take care of it for you.
He had a great sense of humor. He was witty, sarcastic and always had a quick response for you whether you wanted it or not. And that will be greatly missed. He was so loved by his family, probably more than he ever knew.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 67 years, Agatha, of Greenwood Lake; his daughter Dawn Goebel of Greenwood Lake and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Goebel (Simon).
There will be no visitation. Burial will take place privately and at the convenience of the family.
