Jose A. Negron

Jose A. Negron of the Bronx passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. He was 72 years old.

Born Dec. 6, 1940, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he came to the United States in 1956. He was the son of Graciano and Laura Lafontaine Negron.

He was married to Georgina (Charleman) Negron, who passed away December 2012.

Mr. Negron was a building manager with Bloomfield Properties in the Bronx and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx.

His family’s statement reads: “Jose loved boxing and had a passion for food, drink and a zest for life. He was passionate in everything he did and was a very giving person.”

He is survived by his daughter Laura Mangual of Florida, N.Y.; his son Adam Negron of Goshen; granddaughter Morgan Mangual; and his brothers and sisters: Graciano Negron, Francisco Negron, Abraham Negron, Celia Diaz, Carmen Rodriguez and Elba Iris Rivera, all of Puerto Rico.

He was predeceased by his son, Fernando Negron; a sister, Sotera Negron; and a brother, Fernando Negron.

No visitation hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, at Immaculate Conception Church, 389 E. 150th St. in the Bronx.
