Lifetime Warwick resident Dolores Evans passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. She was 83 years old.

Born Jan. 19, 1942, she was the daughter of Louis Henderson and Beulah Ernhout.

Dolores was married to Kenneth Evans, Jr. for 62 years before his passing in February 2024. Together, they owned and operated Warwick Hardware on Main Street.

Dolores helped start the Warwick Pee-Wee Football League. She also coached the cheerleaders for the Pee Wee games.

Her family’s statement reads: “Nana was the glue of our family. She was always there for any of us when we needed a hug and some home-baked treats. She loved to cook for our big family gatherings; having the kids, grandchildren and their families over was so special to her. Nana really looked forward to our Sunday family dinners. She also loved watching her birds while she sat and did crossword puzzles. She had many feeders near the windows and could name all of the different kinds that came to feed.”

Dolores is survived by three daughters: Donna Simone and her husband Kevin of Milford, Pa.; Christine Gurda and her husband Paul of Pine Island, N.Y.; and Susan Osczepinski of Warwick, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Ginger Best and her husband Michael, Kimberly Preston and her husband Josh, Jessica Delos Santos and her husband Jason, Rachael Memoly and her husband Rob, Nicholas Gurda and his wife Meg and Jenna Osczepinski and fiancé Alex Christen; nine great-grandchildren: Reid, Ryan, Raegan, Liam, Grayson, Addison, Rowan, Cole and Mason; sister Penny Robins and her husband Mike and brother Donald Ernhout and his wife Sue, all of Sparks, Nevada; and dear friend Natasha Wallace of Middletown, N.Y.
