Warwick. Music on McFarland presents ‘Miss Maybell and the Jazz Age Artistes’
Music on McFarland presents “Miss Maybell and the Jazz Age Artistes” on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of vintage hot jazz, blues and ragtime music from 1900-1929. Sourcing their tunes directly from dusty old 78 rpm records and antique sheet music, Miss Maybell and the Jazz Age Artistes perform a large repertoire that includes Prohibition-Era Jazz, Ragtime and early Blues, with an emphasis on the New York-based songwriters of Tin Pan Alley’s golden age.
With this unique dedication, they have recently been featured on NPR’s “Person, Place, Thing” with Randy Cohen.
They have also developed a large international following, recently headlining Sevilla Swing in Seville, Spain, and selling out a week of shows at Marian’s Jazz Room in Bern, Switzerland.
Register online at albertwisnerlibrary.org or call the Help Desk at 845-986-1047, ext. 4. The program is funded by a gift to the AWPL Foundation by Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes.
