Chester artists' painted guitars to be raffled off at final concert

The popular Chester Music Series will conclude on Tuesday, Aug. 27, with a raffle of six of the enticing painted guitars seen all around the village this summer.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Bill Perry Music Scholarship and the Chester Historical Society.
Of the guitars to be raffled off, four were painted by Chester Academy students Hannah Drillings and Juliette Moccia.
Hannah is going into her senior year next month. She plans to pursue a major in art history, criticism, and conservation. She is currently studying at the Art Studio in Highland Mills and enjoys working in watercolor and ink.
Juliette will be a junior this year and plans a career in the arts.
David Stevenson, a professional graphic artists, and his wife, Noreen Stevenson, painted the “onion” guitar. Steve Hurley, a designer, created the Bill Perry Day guitar.
The raffle will take place at the final music series concert, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 27, at the venue located behind village hall, 47 Main St., in Historic Downtown Chester.
