Jeffrey Kluge

Jeffrey Alan Kluge, 65, Hankinson, ND passed away unexpectedly December 31, 2023, at Sanford Health Fargo surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness. Visitation will be held Thursday January 4, 2024, from 5-7 pm followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson, ND. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 5, 2024, 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church Hankinson, ND with Rev. Thomas Clark officiating followed by burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Jeffrey “Jeff” Kluge was born April 20, 1958, Fargo, ND, son of Lorenz and Dorothy (Prochnow) Kluge. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church Hankinson, ND. He attended Hankinson Public School graduating in 1976 where he continued working on the family farm/dairy operation.

On September 5, 1981, he was united in marriage with Kathy Nissen at Faith Lutheran Church, New Effington, SD. They remained on the home place where Jeffrey farmed with his father Lorenz Kluge until his retirement. They welcomed two children Jason and Jennifer, instilling in them the importance of family values and hard work.

Jeff enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events, auction sales, playing cards, visiting, a good joke, keeping up with the weather, news, politics, and a good western.

He was simply the best husband, father, and grandpa. He was close with his family who he loved dearly. He loved to stay in touch with them and would often check in.

Jeffrey farmed up until his passing and was also employed full time at Hankinson Public School where he could see his grandchildren almost daily.

No amount of words can describe one’s lifetime. He will be missed dearly. The memories of him will be held near and dear.

Surviving family members include Wife Kathy, Son Jason (Maggie) Kluge (Hankinson, ND), Daughter Jennifer (Justin) Westphal (Hankinson, ND), Grandchildren Gunnar, Winston, Jackie, Brynlee, Karson, Henry, & Brexton. Brother Larry (Elaine) Kluge (Bloomington, MN) niece’s Marissa (Kyle) Jones; Amber (Don) Frelitz.

He was preceded in death his parents Lorenz & Dorothy Kluge.
