Supporting Emmerich and Olsen for Warwick Town Board

We have an election on November 8th. As a registered Democrat, I was thinking what subject would be good to use to elect a Democrat. There are no elected Democratic officials on the Town Board. Republicans hold every position. The people working for the Town are Republicans or Blanks (no party affiliation). People say, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” However, a one-party system is a broken system. Who is at fault? As Shakespeare’s Caesar said: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.” So if you want representation, you’ve got to get off the sofa, get informed and vote for someone who will represent you. Don’t blame the Republicans for doing a good job of getting themselves elected. Go to election meetings and forums, ask the candidates questions and check out their qualifications and previous public service. In other words- step up to the plate, take a swing, make a difference. That is what I’ve done and that is why I am supporting Kurt Emmerich and Bill Olsen for the Town Board. Jerry Schacher Warwick
