At 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12th, a runaway tractor trailer ran a stop sign and broadsided Police Officer Jordan Tetreault as she was completing her shift.
Her vehicle was demolished and she was trapped.
In a heroic effort by EMS personnel she was extricated and airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where she received lifesaving care.
This a true miracle! This incredible, strong and dedicated police officer is in good spirits and is in stable condition after what was a devastating accident.
She was on patrol doing her job, a job she worked so hard to earn.
The town would like to thank the quick response of the Warwick Fire Department, EMS and especially her fellow officers who despite the emotional trauma of seeing one of their own badly injured reacted professionally to get her to exceptional care at Westchester Medical Center.
We also want to thank all the area police agencies, the sheriffs, Orange County EMS, NYS Police and all who raced to offer whatever assistance was needed by our Town.
Chief John Rader and First Sergeant Alton Morley should especially be commended for their leadership and compassion during this very stressful 24 hours. The Town is so very proud of you all.
Keep Officer Tetreault in your prayers that she may make a speedy recovery and get back to doing the job she loves.
