‘The Warwick town council should not continue to be a one-party body’
I urge everyone to vote for the two Warwick Democrats running for town council in the November election.
While I have been here for little more than 18 months, I have met and listened to both of these candidates and believe them to be eminently qualified and dedicated to the people of Warwick.
Further, though Democrats and Republicans are roughly equal in voter registrations in Warwick, it has been more than 20 years since a Democrat was elected to the council.
That means that for 20 years, half the voters in Warwick have been without a voice, since the entire council of Republicans is in lockstep with whatever their platform is (I haven’t quite figured out what that is, or even if they have one other than “keep us in office”
They don’t seem to address very many important issues. Anyway, Greg Galluccio and Steve Rubin will at least be listening to us, and will bring new issues and new attitudes. The Warwick town council should not continue to be a one-party body, excluding anyone who disagrees with them. That’s not how democracy is supposed to work.
Sincerely,
Terry Anderson
