I'm deeply skeptical of Assemblyman Schmitt's take on the border crisis

To the Editor:

I'm deeply skeptical of Assemblyman Colin Schmitt's motivation for his recent "fact finding" expedition to the US-Mexico border. My skepticism is compounded by his parroting of the Trump administration's talking points on immigration, and more disturbingly, on the treatment of children at the detention camps.

Whatever his motivation to tacitly support the administration's stupid and cruel policies, it wasn't the interest of the 99th district.
