‘I don’t think we need an outsider to tell us about our town or how to run our school district’

As a soon to be 74-year-old, I deem it something of a feather in my cap to be called “ Woke.” My grandsons will be impressed.

Mr. Luftig, and the sole signatory of the full page advertisement in The Warwick Advertiser, you seem to have a detailed knowledge of the town I have called home for more than 40 years. I’m glad that we agree on the tenet, “Be a kind neighbour,” and that the people of Warwick are good and decent.

Several of the good people whom I saw in the“Woke Mob” are involved in food pantries, coat drives, tutoring the children of migrant workers and other charitable acts.

Most people are weary of hate speech and name calling and wish to build a kinder, gentler future for our children and grandchildren.

The Culturally Responsive - Sustaining Education program is motivated by those same aims.

I don’t think we need an outsider to tell us about our town or how to run our school district.

    Sincerely,

    Patricia DeBruhl M. Ed.
