I’m writing in support of Dave Eaton, Lynn Lillian and Sharon Davis for re-election to the Warwick Valley School Board.
As our primary reason for choosing to live in Warwick 20 years ago was the quality of education, I am aware of the importance of having great schools and a strong school board, even though we no longer have children in the school system.
Warwick’s achievements, like nationally recognized Blue Ribbon Elementary Schools, U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools and a NYS Reward/Recognition High School, did not just happen.
These things were accomplished as a result of outstanding students and teachers and a school board that demonstrated effective leadership as well as the ability to listen to parents and teachers, to work well with each other and the community and to dedicate the time and energy necessary to get things done.
We are fortunate to have three strong incumbent candidates who will allow us to continue this record of accomplishments and ensure a productive board moving forward.
The fact that these things were accomplished with only a 1.65 percent average annual tax increase since 2014/2015 is a further credit to the board’s success.
Each of these three candidates bring unique experience and skills to their position. I will be voting for Dave Eaton, Lynn Lillian and Sharon Davis on May 18th and I hope you will consider doing the same.
