Corey Bachman 'can creatively lead Warwick toward progress and prosperity'
I am writing to endorse Corey Bachman as candidate for Warwick Town Council.
It is a sign of a living democracy when we have a choice in terms of whom we can elect. For too long, the Republican candidates have run un-opposed.
As an aside, I think it's absurd to even run local candidates on national party lines when there are so many issues that are "Warwick" issues and have nothing to do with national politics.
Too many people vote for a local candidate strictly upon party lines and really that makes no sense. So the Republicans win because Democrats stay home on voting day.
With our new slate of choices, I'd like to focus on Cory Bachman. He is a young, vibrant candidate with an inquisitive mind and a refreshing ability to listen. He is committed to adhering to the Town Comprehensive Plan and maintaining the rural and small-town charm of the entire valley.
He is curious to find new solutions toward balancing light-industrial growth and jobs with tackling the problem of how to keep agriculture viable and Warwick affordable.
It's time we give some new people a chance to bring fresh ideas and perspectives. Bachman isn't connected to a web of families, cohorts and special interests that he would just appoint to positions in local government.
I am certain Bachman can creatively lead Warwick toward progress and prosperity. Let's give him a chance to do so.
