To the Editor:
I am writing to share my enthusiastic support for Vanessa Holland for the Warwick Valley School Board. Warwick is so fortunate to have candidates of her caliber and dedication.
I have known Vanessa for more than a decade and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most generous, honest, and kind-hearted people I know. Her motives are never self-serving, but rather to help or serve others. She has a particular soft spot for children and anyone in need. Whether she knows you or not, if she hears you are in need, she’ll be the first to start a fundraiser, offer you a helping hand, or donate something of her own.
Vanessa is extremely bright, hard-working, and resourceful. I had the pleasure of serving on the Warwick Foundation for Excellence (WFEL) in Learning Board of Directors with her for several years. She built WFEL from the ground up, working countless hours researching and learning from other education foundations to find the best model. The goal was to provide additional resources to our district and to avoid cutbacks (at a time when we had few options) that would reduce the quality of the education students would receive. She is an objective, open-minded, and passionate leader.
Vanessa is a woman of integrity, honor, and humility. She will serve our district – and students – well. She has my full support; I am grateful to her for giving of herself once again to work for others. Our children will have an outstanding advocate with Vanessa Holland on the Board of Education!
