Recent Warwick Valley School Board elections have been relatively uncontroversial, with mild variations on continuity and “more of the same.”
Not this time.
Whether you plan to vote for the three incumbents or any of the four newcomers, it is important to realize that each side has a very different view of what the Warwick school system should look like, from the district leadership to what happens in the classrooms.
It is a referendum on whether the Warwick schools are on the right track or need to undergo major change.
The purpose of this letter is not to tell anyone how to vote, but to urge everyone to familiarize themselves with the issues, decide where they stand ... and vote on May 18.
A low turnout could come at a heavy cost.
