Workshop promotes healthy family diet

    Chester — Cornell Cooperative Extension will be offering an experimental workshop series to assist parents in promoting a healthy diet for their children. Promoting good nutrition at home and in the school setting can impact students’ achievements, and assist in their development towards healthy adults. The workshop will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 19, 26, and Nov. 2, at Chester Elementary School at 23 Ridge Road in Chester. Workshop topics will include food and nutrition education, understanding the connection between diet and disease, lifestyle choices and recipes for better health, cooking demonstrations, and information on thrifty shopping and cooking.
