Warwick readies for down home concerts in the park
WARWICK-Local residents are invited to grab their blankets and chairs and join friends and neighbors under the stars for evenings of music and fun. The Warwick Village Board has announced the Summer Concert Series for 2004 to be held at the bandstand in Stanley-Deming Park located on South Street in the Village of Warwick. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. This series includes artists and groups that appeal to various musical tastes. Here is this summer's musical schedule: The Middletown City Band will perform on July 3rd. On July 17th Activist Singer / Song Writer Holly Near will perform as part of the Warwick Summer Arts Festival. Saturday July 31st brings Peter Spink. Aug. 14th Jeanne Marie Lowell will entertain. And on Aug. 28. The New York Swing Exchange will close the Summer Series. The concert series has been aided by donations from The Bank of New York, The Kennedy Companies, Lehman & Getz Engineering, Country Chevrolet & Oldsmobile, Claudia Vaccaro Real Estate, Bonacic, Blustein & Krahulik, Peter Barlet Attorney and DeGraw and DeHaan Architects. Village Trustee George McManus, Chairperson of the Summer Concert Series, gave special thanks to the Warwick Lions Club for providing the Dial A Bus transportation for seniors and Lions balloons for the children, and The Warwick Reformed Church for offering their building in case of rain.
