WARWICK - Warwick’s downtown merchants are getting ready for their July Sidewalk Sale. The annual event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 8 through 10. Co-chairs Tim Mullally, co-owner of Style Counsel, and Sue Loughren, owner of The Toy Chest, promise to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever. The 2011 July Sidewalk Sale will be open to outside vendors as well as participating merchants. And non-profit, civic and religious organizations are also invited to participate free of charge. New for this year will be a Paris Flea Market on Railroad Avenue featuring antiques, collectibles, new and used items and what-have-you. Racheal’s Daily Discounts will also be there offering a large selection of wholesale overstock items, from local wholesale stores. “We describe the Paris Flea Market as 'junk to jewels’”said Mullally. ”It’s a great opportunity to pick up a bargain.” He explained that participating shop owners use this event as a way to clear out old stock, promote new items with incentive prices and also to meet new customers and greet old ones. “We’re all anxious to reduce our inventories before the fall season,” said Mullally. “And there will be lots of bargains both outside and inside the shops.” The Sidewalk Sale will also feature live musical entertainment. Ray Loughren and the Free Shrimp Band will play on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. And “Laramma” returns this year on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
