Warwick - The Town of Warwick started its new year of service by holding its Re-organization Meeting on Monday, Jan. 4 at Town Hall. Among the actions and details listed were: Appointments and duties: • Michael Sweeton, James Gerstner, John Johansen and Richard E. Houseman Jr. are the town’s marriage officers for 2010. • Michael Sweeton and Mickey Shuback will sit on the town’s Audit Committee. • Animal Control Officers are Suzyn Barron, Rebecca Hanlon, Dawn Woody, Kerry Lennon, Debra Racchi-Sugrue, Timothy Adams, and Thomas Neely. • Supervisor Sweeton is also Collector of Sewer and Water Rents and 25% of the salaries in his office will be paid from funds of the water districts and the sewer district of the Town. • Supervisor Sweeton and DPW Commissioner Feagles will be recommended to the county for appointment as Local Emergency Manager and Deputy Local Emergency Manager, respectively. • VFW Post 4662 in Warwick, American Legion Post 214 in Warwick, American Legion Post 1250 in Florida, American Legion Post 1443 in Greenwood Lake, and PLAV Post 16 in Pine Island each received a $700 fuel allotment. • DPW Commissioner Feagles may assist the local municipalities when needed and in turn they will assist Warwick at no additional cost to the town. • The town insured itself against fraud by its public officials through the Faithful Performance Blanket Bond. The bond covers $155,000 for the Supervisor, $2,712,383 for the Receiver of Taxes, and $50,000 each for all other officials. • The town reinstated its Investment Policy originally adopted in 1993, the Procurement Policy and Procedures from 1993 and amended in 1995, and the Schedule of Fees Chapter 75 Development Fees as adopted in Local Law #2 in 2000 and amended several times since including this year. • Carolyn Purta and Melissa Stevens are Deputy Town Clerks. • Carolyn Marion is the Deputy Receiver of Taxes. • The town’s Computer Consultant is R.M. McKelvey Computer Consultants. • The town’s Risk Manager is The Durland Agency. • The town’s Planning Board Engineer is HDR, P.C. Supervisor Sweeton disclosed that his daughter is an engineer at this firm and will not work on town projects. • The town’s Engineer and Code Enforcement Officer is Tectonic Engineering. • The town’s Planning Board Attorney is John Bollenbach. • The town’s Financial and Budget Advisor is Stephen M. Brown. • The Planning Board will meet on the first and third Wednesday, except holidays, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 132 Kings Highway in Warwick. • The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 132 Kinds Highway in Warwick. • The town’s official banks are Key Bank, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase formerly the Bank of New York, and Provident Bank. • The town’s official newspaper is the Warwick Valley Dispatch with items pertaining to Greenwood Lake to be advertised in the Greenwood Lake News. • The town historian is Dr. Richard Hull and Sue Gardner is Deputy Town Historian both of whom receive no compensation except for mileage and expenses. • The part-time police officers for the year are Roy E. Faulls, Fred W. Bramich, Richard Koziola, Thomas Prior, Michael T. Urso, and Derek Kerstner. • Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP is Special Counsel to the town. • Donaghue, Thomas, Auslander & Drohan, LLP is Labor Counsel to the town.
