FLORIDA-Werner's True Value Hardware on North Main Street has donated up to two dozen flags for display throughout the village of Florida in preparation for this Memorial Day weekend. "If everybody was like Jerry," said Village of Florida Mayor Jim Pawliczek Sr., "we'd have a beautiful town, more so than it is, and we appreciate everything that he does, particularly for this holiday." Jerrold and Lynda Werner, together with their son Aron and daughter Alyssa, run the longtime Main Street business. Werner said he donated flags a couple of years ago, but they had become worn. When the Chamber of Commerce asked about flags, Werner called the mayor and volunteered to donate flags again. The flags would sell for more than $500.
