WARWICK — The Warwick Soccer Club has hired Stefano Itria, a man who has coached professionally for 30 years and who brings with him a reputation for recognizing and developing talent, to coach its boys HSE (high school eligible) team.

Itria’s dream of bringing “futbol” to American youth was realized in 2010 when his association with AC Milan sent him to Miami, Fla. Now in New York, Itria continues his affiliation with AC Milan and Soccer Idea, a company devoted to promoting “Italian-style” soccer in Orange County.

His coaching credentials include:

UEFA Coach Italian Soccer Federation.

NSCAA Premier Diploma.
A series win at the 2011 Milan Friendship Cup when he took his Miami boys 12/13 to compete in the European match.

His team, AC Milan-Warwick, is currently conducting tryouts to recruit a few additional players for the 2013-14 season. The team is a boys mixed-age, high school eligible team. Players must be between 14 and 18 years of age.

The remaining tryouts will be held Wednesdays, Aug. 14 and 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Warwick Town Park (east side on Field P1) located at 116 Union Corners.

To tryout, contact team manager Cathy Randazzo via e-mail randazzo.cathy@gmail.com.
