Three-season athlete Tristan Peterson selected as the WVHS Allstate Student-Athlete of the Week
Warwick. The senior breaks the school's shot put record, a mark set 27 years ago by Bill Lilly.
Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior Tristan Peterson as this week's Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Student–Athlete of the Week.
Tristan qualified for the NYSPHSAA State Championships in the shot put with a qualifying mark of 51’10-1/4," which broke the school record set in 1993 by Bill Lilly.
Tristan is a three-season athlete: he competes as an offensive lineman in the fall for the football team and throws for both the indoor and outdoor track teams.
Tristan is a top student and carries a cumulative weighted academic average of 99.20. He takes a challenging course load that includes advanced placement courses for college credit in Literature, Government and Chemistry.
Tristan is a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations President and is a Spanish club member.
Tristan plans to study engineering and Spanish at either SUNY Oneonta or Manhattan College.
Tristan is the son of Dawn and Brian Peterson of Monroe. His sister Tabitha is a freshman at WVHS.
