Taylor Mann chosen WVHS 'Student-Athlete of the Week'
WARWICK — Taylor Mann has been selected as the Warwick Valley High School "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
"The basketball captain is a key contributor to the Lady Wildcats 12–3 start," Athletic Director Gregory Sirico said in his press release announcing the selection. "Taylor’s brings great court presence and leadership to the first-place Wildcats who look to stay undefeated in conference play, taking on Washingtonville and Minisink this week in key divisional match ups."
Taylor is a three-sport (soccer, basketball and lacrosse) standout for the Wildcats and a three-year varsity player for the three-time divisional champion girls’ basketball team.
Taylor is a dedicated student athlete and role model for all at Warwick Valley. She is credited with perfect attendance as a junior and has taken an early interest in Cosmetology at C–Tech. Her 85 average through a very busy schedule is credited to her work ethic. And yet she still finds time to be involved in many extra-curricular activities at Warwick Valley High School, including the Sports Medicine Club.
Taylor has applied to a number of SUNY colleges, including Cortland, where she has narrowed her field of study to business or physical education.
Taylor is the daughter of Anthony Mann and Teresa Mann of Warwick. Her brother Anthony (Class of 2013) also was a standout athlete at Warwick as well.
