WARWICK-The Warwick Fire, the boys U10 travel soccer team, defeated Woodstock 3-1 on Sunday, June 5, for their seventh straight win. The victory also was the Fire's second win against Woodstock, who came to Warwick to avenge their earlier loss of the season. It was a scorching hot day on the Warwick pitch, but forward Nicholas Daigle got off to a good start with an early goal. The remainder of the first half was scoreless, but not for lack of trying. Both the Woodstock and Fire keepers were busy protecting their nets. After the half, Nick Blomfield from the Fire scored on a cross kick and Brian Allan followed that with another goal up the center. The Fire will play this Saturday in an informal scrimmage at Central Valley and again on Sunday against Newburgh in Newburgh.
