Preview of the 2025 WVHS boys lacrosse program
Warwick. Head Coach Tom Kelly: ‘We are less about wins and losses, more about growth as people.’

It’s true that the Warwick Valley High School boys lacrosse program lost more than its share of talented leaders to graduation in 2024.
It’s also true that the Wildcats are ready to reload and take on the fiercest competition on the field this spring.
The Wildcats are scheduled to host Scarsdale on April 5.
“This is a fantastic group of young men,’’ Warwick Valley Head Coach Tom Kelly said. “They all have been playing together for a long time. They love each other and they love the game. We are less about wins and losses, more about growth as people.
“The goal is always to become the best version of ourselves and play together as long as possible. The materialistic version of that would be to win a State Championship.’’
Top returning varsity-level student athletes this year for Warwick Valley include Dylan Sullivan (senior, attack), Ryan Sullivan (senior, attack), Joey Finn (senior, attack), Darren Vogt (senior, midfield), Anthony Mazza (senior, midfield), Brody Frederick (senior, midfield), Kevin Ginley (senior, midfield), Aidan Corbalis (senior, defense),Kyle Gluckstein (senior, defense), Danny Ranaudo (senior, short stick midfield) and Jason Senior (junior, defense).
Promising newcomers to the varsity roster include Tommy Ronan (junior, defense), Christian Perron (junior, goalie), Garrett Judd (sophomore, faceoff) and Nick Vicciardo (sophomore, midfield).
The captains
“Aidan Corbalis is our defensive captain,’’ Kelly said. “He is a guy who leads by example and always does the right thing. You cannot say a bad thing about him-team guy, accepted by the locker room, holds himself and others to a very high standard.
“Darren Vogt is our midfield captain. He’s a talented player who is accepted at every level of the game and has tremendous street (credibility) due to his creative style of play and love of his teammates and the game.
“Ryan Sullivan, Joey Finn and Dylan Sullivan are attack captains. They are all energy all the time and always do the right thing. Great examples of what we want ‘Cats Laxers to be on and off the field.’’
The Wildcats had a stellar overall record of 16-2 in 2024. They won the Section IX Class B championship and were the runner-up in the Regional Tournament to a powerhouse South Side team.
‘Our guys ... can’t just play lacrosse.’
“We are really excited for the spring season to get started,’’ Kelly said. “Our guys do events together year round, play winter league and all lift together. We are very grateful that the season is finally here. “We love our Warwick lacrosse program and love our community. Everything we do is geared toward the program Kindergarten through 12th grade. We set up play days with the youth and run clinics/camps year round. We make a point of emphasis to our guys that they can’t ‘just play lacrosse.’ They are role models within the community and we need to make sure we carry ourselves that way.’’
