Pole vaulter Kaeli Thompson named Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the Week
WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to select junior Kaeli Thompson as this week's Bill Garcia Allstate Student–Athlete of the Week.
Kaeli set the school record in the pole vault at the Tim St. Lawrence Invitational Track Meet at the Armory on Dec. 15, 2017, with a vault of 12’6”.
Kaeli is ranked second in New York State in female pole vault.
She placed third at the NYSPHSAA Outdoor State Championships as a sophomore with a vault of 11’9”.
Kaeli’s academic accomplishments are only outdone by her performance in the classroom. She has a weighted grade point average of 105 and an unweighted average of 98.5, and is on the radar of Duke University, University of Virginia and Baylor.
She is enrolled in many advanced placement courses including biology, language and composition and United States History.
She is an active member of the Student Senate and the Leadership Academy.
Kaeli is the daughter of Heather and Greg Thompson of Warwick. Her sister Kristin is an up-and-coming freshman track athlete.
