Katherine Smith Commits to Notre Dame
Warwick. Track star accepts athletic scholarship to run for the Fighting Irish

Warwick Valley High School senior track standout Katherine Smith signed a National Letter of Intent to accept an athletic scholarship to the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
The two-time NYSPHSAA State Champion (4 X 400 Relay) and two-time All American will run for the Fighting Irish this fall as a distance and middle distance specialist.
Smith’s resume includes 100 percent average, National Honor Society tutor coordinator and member of the Interact Club.
Katherine chose Notre Dame over eight other scholarship offers and will major in Neuroscience (science of the brain).
Coach Mike Potter, Athletic Director Gregory Sirico and the rest of Wildcat nation are happy to have her back for the next few months as athletics in New York State prepare to open.
Katherine is the daughter of Brian and Karen Smith of Warwick (both collegiate athletes and graduates of University of Rhode Island).
Her brother Sean and sisters Erin and Reagan are up and coming standout student-athletes in Wildcat Country.
