James Kolesar, captain of the lacrosse team, named WVHS Student-Athlete of the Week
WARWICK James Kolesar has been selected as this weeks Warwick Valley High School Student–Athlete of the Week through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The senior lacrosse captain and his teammates completed their regular season with a record of 14–2 and the second-place seed in the Section 9 Boys Lacrosse Tournament.
James leaves Warwick with more than 200 career points (goals and assists together) and as the schools second all-time scorer as a four-year varsity player.
He has been recognized as a Section 9 All–Star as a junior and captain in his junior and senior year.
James will be attending Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., and has been recruited to play lacrosse for the National Division 3 power.
James has not decided on a major but will start the fall with at least 9 college credits from the courses he has taken at Warwick (AP U.S. history, AP environmental science and college algebra through SUNY Orange). He also is a member of the National Honor Society and Interact Club.
James is the son of Jody and John Kolesar of Warwick. His brother John is a 2009 Warwick Valley High School graduate who will graduate from Pace University this weekend.
