MIDDLETOWN-Orange County Community College's Athletic Department is sponsoring a golf scramble tournament on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Nevele Grand Resort and Hotel to benefit the department's team and travel expenses. Stacey Morris, former SUNY Orange athlete and current coach, had help coming up with the idea of golf as a fundraiser. Golf was chosen since it is a lifetime sport, played by both men and women, and many OCCC graduates as well. The fundraiser will benefit OCCC athletes, which Morris claims include two of the best pitchers that ever came out of the county.
