Alanna Garner chosen as Warwick Valley's Student-Athlete of the Week
Warwick. An athlete who participates in football and track and field, Alanna Garner is a model teammate, respected by all.
Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize senior Alanna Garner as this week's Bill Garcia Agency Allstate Student–Athlete of the Week.
Alanna is a two-year member of the Varsity Football Team and a three-year track athlete, specializing in throwing events.
Her positive attitude is contagious and she is a model teammate, respected by all.
Alanna participates in the Treble Choir and is a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club and a recipient of the Sojourner Truth Award, which is given for excellence and perseverance.
Alanna is an outstanding student, maintaining a 94.1 cumulative grade point average. Her classes include Advanced Placement Courses for College Credit in Government, Biology, Literature, University Spanish, OCCC Algebra and OCCC Trigonometry.
Alanna has received acceptance to UMass at Amherst, Temple University, Penn State and Albany. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
Alanna is the daughter of Tamar and Pascall Garner of Sugar Loaf. She has 4 younger brothers - Amari (4 years old), Aaron (first grade at Park Ave), Andon (third grade at Park Ave) and Asa (seventh grade Warwick Middle School) and sister Alyese (sophomore Warwick Valley High School).
All five siblings follow her example and are up-and-coming Wildcats on the rise in the Warwick Valley.
