Soldiers get property tax extension

from both county and Village of Warwick Warwick — Following in the footsteps of the Orange County legislature, the Village of Warwick has approved a measure that will allow people deployed in the military a 90-day extension for payment of their real property taxes and penalties from the end of their deployment. "This is definitely going to help these families out," said Mayor Michael Newhard. "We have to look at other ways to help out those active duty soldiers." Orange County enacted the legislation on Aug. 4, authorizing an extension of real property tax collection for persons deployed by the military, including reservists and those in the National Guard, their spouses or domestic partners.
