WARWICK - Warwick now has a second supermarket. On Tuesday morning, June 8, veterans from American Legion Post 214 raised the Flag as members of the Warwick Valley High School Meistersingers sang the National Anthem. The occasion was the grand opening of the new 56,000-square-foot Price Chopper supermarket just outside the Village of Warwick on the west side of State Highway 94S. Price Chopper Chairman and CEO Neil Golub, President Jerry Golub, Vice President Store Operations Mike Davidson, Store Manager Frank Davidson and other company officers were then joined by local officials for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The company’s traditional night-before-the-opening “Preview Party” at the new store raised over $1,500 for the Warwick Little League, the Warwick Valley Humane Society and the Warwick Valley Community Center. “We are pleased to become a part of the Warwick community and look forward to providing Price Chopper quality, value and customer service,” said Neil Golub. “We also relish the opportunity to support local projects and events that nourish the community around us.” The Warwick facility is the company’s third store in Orange County. Other locations are in Middletown and Newburgh. In addition to offering groceries, general merchandise and health and beauty care items, the store features a complete selection of supermarket products including fresh produce, meats, seafood, baked goods and flowers. The new facility is also home to a pharmacy that will remain open seven days a week. Based in Schenectady, New York, the Golub Corporation owns and operates Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
