WARWICK — Planning is underway for next June’s “Sunset at the Stables,” expected to become one of the top annual social functions in the Town of Warwick.
The Saturday, June 3, event will be held at the Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, located on 100 acres in Warwick, just off Route 17A between Bellvale and Mt. Peter.
Leo R. Kaytes and Cindy Vander Plaat will co-chair “Sunset at the Stables,” which will feature dinner catered by Bellvale Market, dancing to the music of the CloudNYne Band, upscale auctions and tours of the Winslow facilities.
For the past five years Kaytes and Vander Plaat headed the highly successful June Tent Party at Mount Alverno Center.
That event has been discontinued.
However, most members of the Tent Party planning committee are helping organize the new event.
As a gesture of support, Sue Ferro, Winslow executive director, announced that Winslow will not hold its “Denim & Diamonds” fund raiser this year and will concentrate its efforts in providing therapeutic horseback riding to its 1,000 children and adults with mental and physical disabilities.
The co-chairs said their goal for “Sunset at the Stables” is to provide “an enjoyable evening for the entire community while benefiting the wonderful work of Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, a non-profit organization devoted to the special needs community of the Hudson Valley, and the Warwick Valley Rotary Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a positive, lasting change to the community and beyond.”
