Applications are now open for the Orange County Youth Leadership Academy, a four-week program offered by the Warwick Valley Community Center.
The free program integrates life skills, job skills and cultural enrichment, and includes a weekly trip, involvement with local and county leaders, guest speakers and presentations.
It runs from July 5th through July 30th.
Students entering 7th, 8th and 9th grade are eligible, with preference given to older applicants. Participants are expected to attend all four weeks.
Interviews will start on Monday, June 7th. Candidates interested in the program should call Karen Thomas at the Warwick Valley Community Center (845)-986-6422 ext. 4 or email KarenT.wcc@gmail.com to arrange an interview date.
Support for the program comes from Drug-Free Communities, Office of Addiction Services and Supports, Orange County Youth Bureau, Town of Warwick and Village of Warwick, Warwick Rotary and Lions Clubs.
