Warwick Valley High School inducts 53 students into National Honor Society
WARWICK — On Jan. 14, Warwick Valley High School inducted 53 new members into the Henry C. Lamoreaux Warwick Chapter of the National Honor Society.
In his remarks during the induction ceremony, High School Principal Dr. Larry Washington said the National Honor Society embraces the highest standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.
While academic success is the first requirement for the National Honor Society, entry into the organization is about the well-rounded individual. To be considered, a student must also demonstrate character, service and leadership. In the fall, students who qualify academically must complete the NHS application detailing involvement in community service activities and listing leadership positions.
The National Honor Society's Warwick Chapter is led by advisor and high school teacher Tim O'Dwyer.
