Christ Church, 50 South St., and interim Rector Father Steve Holton invite the community to celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas Eve, next Thursday, Dec. 24.
Because a full church is prohibited during the pandemic, in place of the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols, this year’s celebration will be in short sessions, beginning at 5 p.m.
Every half hour there will be a scripture reading and a short sermon and prayer, interspersed with Christmas music set in a beautifully decorated church enhanced with candlelight.
The first two sessions will take place on the church lawn, before the Crèche.
A maximum of 30 guests will be admitted for each half hour in accordance with Diocesan and Orange County capacity guidelines. The final session will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Reserve space at a specific session for yourself or for your family by calling the parish office at 986-3440 in advance.
All are welcome but requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Any changes to the Christmas Vigil will be posted on the church website: Christchurch.org.
