Warwick. Senior Class project concert raises $1,203 for skatepark initiative
WVHS senior and musician, Owen Hoey wanted his senior class project to benefit his local community.
He put together a benefit concert with his and three other local high school bands and the help of Warwick Skatepark Initiative and the Warwick Community Center.
To host this fundraising event, the bands, WSI, the community center and their volunteers came together to offer an evening of music on April 28 to a sold-out audience.
Four bands - Identity Crisis, Balloon Animals, Subway Tuna and Animal Crisis - performed from 5 to 9 p.m.
The event raised $1,203 for the new skatepark.
“WSI wants to thank Owen Hoey, all the bands, the Warwick Community Center, all of the staff and volunteers, and especially everyone who attended, for making this fundraiser a terrific success,” said Donna Kaminski in the press release detailing the effort. “We would also like to thank WVCC supporters; Drug Free Communities, Office of Addiction and Support, Village of Warwick, and our nonprofit organization, Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan”
