Outdoor dining extended
After discussions with local restaurants and permission from the New York State Department of Transportation, the Village of Warwick is pleased to announce that the expanded outdoor dining for local restaurants has been extended in accordance with the following schedule:
· A portion of Main Street (Welling Place to West Street intersection) will close Thursday through Saturday;
· Spring Street will close Fridays and Saturdays only; and
· Railroad Avenue will not close.
Street closures begin at 4 p.m., service begins at 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the streets will reopen at 11 p.m.
The village has received permission from the NYS DOT to close Main Street/Route 94 through Saturday, Aug. 29; however, the extended outdoor dining through the State Liquor Authority expires on Wedneday, Aug. 5 and will be pending an extension of Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order.
Village officials will inform restaurants and patrons of the final dates as events move forward.
Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
Village of Warwick to conduct bulk trash pick-up
The Village of Warwick will conduct a bulk pick-up of household items beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, and ending Wedneday, September 30.
Items acceptable for pickup include such things as furniture, mattresses, rugs, etc.
The Village is asking residents to place metal items separately for recycling purposes.
The village will not pick up: garbage, leaves, brush, tires, barrels, paint, drain oil, construction debris, computer equipment, appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, washers, dryers, stoves, etc.
All items are to be at the curbside by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the week your area is scheduled for pick-up. Once the area has been picked up there will be no return trips.
If you belong to a Homeowners Association (HOA), contact them directly for further instructions.
The village will be divided into two areas to be picked up:
Week 1: Sept. 8 – North side of the Railroad Tracks.
Week 2: Sept. 21 – South side of the Railroad Tracks.
As a reference, Village Hall is on the North side of the railroad tracks and Railroad Green/Railroad Avenue is on the South side of the railroad tracks.
