Warwick. Junior Police Academy builds trusts with students, demystifies police work
The Town of Warwick Police Department’s Junior Police Academy graduated its latest class of students on July 20, nurturing community trust and friendship, and explaining how law enforcement works to youths ages 10 to 15.
The Academy, a collaborative effort each summer between the Warwick Police Department and the Warwick Valley Central School District, introduces police work in a fun, creative and interactive setting.
The Academy consists of physical training, lectures, presentations, field trips and hands‐on activities to potentially inspire careers in public safety and to advance appreciation and respect for the role that police play in keeping the community safe.
