Warwick. Halloween happenings at Warwick Valley Community Center
The Warwick Valley Community Center has two upcoming Halloween-related events for your calendar.
Halloween Hoopla
On Saturday, Oct. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Halloween Hoopla will feature crafts, games and treats. You will learn how to make your own mask. Bring a pumpkin to carve. There also will be Tricky-tray and more. There will be a $5 per person fee to benefit the Warwick Valley Community Center’s youth programs.
Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 24, 12 to 3 p.m.
Trick-or-Treat and Halloween Mask-arade
On Sunday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m., don’t forget to stop at the WVCC on Halloween to Trick-or-Treat. Free to all.
Volunteers are welcomed to hand out candy; candy donations happily accepted.

Youth programs at the WVCC include the Summer Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA), a four-week intensive skill building and mentoring workshop; the Youth Advisory Board (YAB), a year-round program focusing on community service; the Life Skills Program where teens participate in activities highlighting cultural diversity; the Living Well program supporting LGBTQ youth; and Youth Task Force where teens plan and implement initiatives including making PSA’s to prevent and reduce youth use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and vaping.
These programs are sponsored by the Drug Free Communities (DFC), Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS), Orange County Youth Bureau, the Warwick Rotary Club, the Warwick Lions Club and the Town and Village of Warwick, and supported by Wickham Works.
