The members of the Chosun Taekwondo Academy Leadership Team recently donated $950 from the sale of refreshments at the popular Warwick High School Ultamania Basketball game to benefit the Warwick Lions Club.
At a recent monthly meeting, Grandmaster Doug Cook, owner and head instructor of the academy along with members of the Chosun Leadership Team, presented the proceeds of the fund raiser to representatives of the Warwick Lions Club.
This valued, charitable organization is celebrating its 75th year serving the citizens of Warwick. Since 2008, The Chosun Leadership Team has raised thousands of dollars for the Warwick Lions Club/Warwick Valley Rotary Club Holiday Event for Local Families in Need, by hosting the annual Book and Bake Sale in Lewis Park.

“The Warwick Lions Club has had the pleasure of working together with the Chosun Taekwondo Academy Leadership Team over many years,” said Erin Andersen, the Lions Club Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “Our groups have come together through various events and fund raisers which have greatly benefited the community and those in need.”
The mission of the Chosun Leadership Team, under the direction of Kara Greh, is to provide leadership skills for young taekwondo students within the Chosun Taekwondo Academy and the community at large using the virtues of taekwondo as a guide. Over the years, the Leadership Team has raised funds for the Warwick Historical Society, the Warwick Humane Society, the Warwick Ambulance Corp, the Brian Ahearn Children’s Fund. The group refurbishes the grounds around the gazebo at the Warwick Town Park every spring.
