Town approves three part-time officers
Warwick. Swap meet, the next repair café were also approved.
The Warwick Town Board of Warwick held a short board meeting on Aug. 22 primarily focused on paying audited bills and adopting resolutions.
“We generally, the town board, will not have a meeting in August. But we do have this meeting because we have a lot of bills to pay, and we cannot pay them without the board auditing and approving at a town board meeting,” said Supervisor Jesse Dwyer. All audited bills were approved to be paid during the meeting.
Resolutions #R2024-351 through #R2024-360 were adopted. These included hiring three part-time police officers: Sean O. Mallon, Sean C. Walter, and Alexander Rykowski. The board also accepted the resignation of Sean Wagner, a part-time DPW seasonal laborer.
The Bear Mountain Antique Club Swap Meet was approved. It will be held on September 8 16 Legion Lane, Pine Island, at the Polish Legion.
The board received an email from the organizer of the Repair Café. The next Repair Café at the Warwick Senior Center will occur on Sept. 21, 2024.
The bid proposal from A-Better Fence Co. Inc. of $2,250.00 for the Wickham Water Plant driveway was approved by the board.
“I just want to reiterate to the board and the public the reason we have to do these additional resolutions is to make sure that the numbering of the laws is correct for the secretary of the state. There are no changes to these laws,” Dwyer explained.
The next board meeting will occur on Thursday, Sept. 12.
