‘Too Good to Toss’ returns
Warwick. The free community swap will take place June 1 and 2.
Too Good to Toss, the popular Warwick community swap, will take place June 1 and 2 at the basketball court at Stanley Deming Park in Warwick. The event is rain or shine.
Since its inception in 2017, this volunteer-run event helps divert an estimated 13 dumpsters’ worth of goods from landfills each year, according to the organizers. It’s also an opportunity to gain a variety of free items from your neighbors, ranging from home and garden, toys, clothing, bedding, kitchenware, vintage, and more.
Only residents of the hamlets, villages, and town of Warwick may donate items for free on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All donations must be clean, in good repair, and with all working parts. Items will be checked at drop-off.
On Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., everyone, no matter where they live, may “shop” for free. Items will be arranged in departments to make finding goods easy. There is no entrance fee and attendees are encouraged to take as much as they can carry.
Volunteers are rewarded with first pick of the goods and are limited to two items per hour volunteered (most shifts are three hours).
Additional details, including how to volunteer and the list of unacceptable items, can be found at WickhamWorks.Org/TooGoodToToss.
Too Good to Toss is sponsored by the village and town of Warwick, and Wickham Works. It is a part of the Earth to Warwick! green calendar initiative, sponsored by Orange County Tourism.
