Timeless and steadfast
Tuxedo Park. At Tuxedo Park School, students are adjusting to the changes and safety measures that have come with in-person learning.
On Sept. 8, Tuxedo Park School opened our doors - and socially distanced arms - to welcome students back to campus.
This marks the 121st year teaching children, and though many things about the start to this year feel different, the smiles, joy and excitement of students and faculty during the first weeks of school are timeless and steadfast.
At Tuxedo Park School, students are adjusting to the changes and safety measures that have come with in-person learning. Students are wearing masks, staying six feet apart and accepting daily temperature checks with grace and smiles.
Teachers are taking their classrooms to the great outdoors as often as possible throughout the day. There are 20 tents set up to provide a shaded, dry, outdoor learning space. Students take lunch on blankets, picnic-style with friends. The school’s athletics program is venturing into the mountains near Harriman State Park.
“Ending the day being able to get exercise outside and hear the birds, it’s almost like meditating,” one student said.
“It’s so relaxing, peaceful, and fun, but challenging, too!” another student added about hiking with friends and teachers.
More now than ever, we are grateful for our 17-acre campus, settled in the Ramapo Mountains.
Each day students and faculty take advantage of the school’s 17-acre campus, settled in the Ramapo Mountains.
