WARWICK — In June 2013, Warwick Assembly nominated their new team leader and pastor, Tim W. Janzen. His family moved into the area this past summer and they have taken off running, implementing ideas, services and community outreach programs.
Janzen was inaugurated during a ceremony held Jan. 18 at the church, which is located at 60 South, at the corner of Second and South streets.
In its press release announcing the appointment, church officials included the following information about their new pastor:
Janzen grew up in Johnstown, Pa. His father also was a pastor and following his graduation, Janzen moved with his family to New York City.
While in New York, Janzen married his “muñeca” (doll in Spanish) Ruthie. They have been married for 21 years and have two boys: Aaron (16) and Zechariah (10).
Janzen served as Pastor of Administration at Church of the Revelation in the Bronx from 1996-2001 and taught in the N.Y.C. Berean Bible Institute. He than served as Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Assembly of God in Edwards, N.Y., “where there are only two seasons - cuttin’ wood and burnin’ wood.” He was in New Beginnings from 2001-2007.
He then moved to the state Florida to further his ministerial education at Southeastern University in Lakeland and has been serving as Associate Pastor of First Assembly West in Cape Coral, Fla., since 2009.
Janzen included this personal statement:
“Being raised in a minister’s home has been foundational to the preparing my life to fulfill the call of equipping, teaching, caring and leading a church. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at an early age, but my true commitment to a lifetime of service happened in 1996. Prior to 1996, I sought to advance my self in the retail management sector, but there was an emptiness of purpose. Since then, I have continued to fulfill this call to service through pastoral ministry, continued education, and past experiences. I strive to proclaim the Good News of God’s love so others can encounter Him, to lead them in praise and worship of Him, and to further their spiritual development and ministry involvement.”
The pastor also has held several positions in the District and Sectional AG offices, and continues to be involved with the Assemblies of God. His educational credentials include a Master of Arts degree in Ministerial Leadership, Diploma of Ministerial Studies, and an Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration.
His wife “Ruthie is my better half, and she is more passionate than I am.’ She has a Master of Science degree in Education and is a special education teacher.
The pastor enjoys golf, softball and reading and his favorite teams are anything Pittsburgh and the New York Yankees.
